Organizational Structure & Governance

Senior Partners. Nebraska P-16’s primary leadership is provided by 
four senior-partner organizations:

  • Nebraska Governor's Office
  • The Nebraska Department of Education
  • The University of Nebraska
  • EducationQuest Foundation*

*EducationQuest Foundation is an independent, nonprofit organization whose
mission is to increase college access and college-going in Nebraska.  It was the first
private-sector organization to embrace Nebraska P-16 and volunteer to join its leadership.

Sponsoring organizations:  All of the key organizations in Nebraska education were
invited to become involved in Nebraska P-16.

  • Nebraska Council of School Administrators
  • Nebraska Association of School Boards
  • Nebraska State College System
  • Nebraska State Education Association
  • Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Nebraska
  • Nebraska Community College Association
  • Nebraska Educational Service Units

In addition, three business organizations joined as sponsors:

  • The Nebraska Business-Higher Education Forum
  • The Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce
  • The Lincoln Chamber of Commerce

State Government also joined with the following offices represented:

  • Governor’s Policy Research Office
  • State Budget Office
  • Nebraska Department of Economic Development
  • Nebraska Department of Labor
  • Nebraska Health and Human Services Commission
  • Coordinating Commission for Postsecondary Education
  • Education Committee, Nebraska Legislature

And, several other statewide organizations joined the effort, offering to provide
advice and counsel on diversity and equity issues as well as in-kind support:
