Students are you interested in a chance to work at an interesting career.. earning a living that can support a family and make a difference in you community? Start building the foundation to achieve these goals by:
- Taking more challenging high school courses. Selecting high school classes can difficult. Register for the most challenging classes possible according to your interests and abilities.
- Depending on your college major, some colleges require two years of the same foreign language in high school and two consecutive years of college level foreign language. Taking four years of the same foreign language in high school may waive the language requirement. Knowledge of a foreign language will also help build vocabulary skills for the ACT/SAT college entrance exams.
Parents give your children support so that they have a chance to succeed in an increasingly competitive world by:
- Expect more. Realize that what was good enough academically for you will not be good enough for your children.
- Start while they are young. Advocate the importance of a good education.
- Be involved. Let your children see that you are making school a priority in their lives.
- Make sure your childs school is meeting their educational needs.
